The Orchestra Pit

Greetings and a Happy New Year from The Orchestra Pit, we start this new born year in style with the continuation of the long line of special events known globally as Scaledown. Once more it will occur upstairs at the King & Queen pub in London's Fitzrovia from 7pm on Friday 29th January 2010. Appearing, for your delight, will be (in no particular order):

Dear Thief - A most excellent band who have been described thusly "Delightfully quirky and skewed guitar pop played with aplomb by a tight trio" which sums them up nicely. Definitely a good start to 2010.

Arklove - Enjoy a bit of post rock/punk jazz/classical fusion from this combo who construct sax led instrumentals interspersed with improvisation.

NOW - Once more the delightful NOW bring their quirky and eclectiv brand of neo pop to Scaledown replete with antique synthesisers, battered old guitars and quite possibly a cello.

Rory Tregaskis - Rory played at scaledown in a previous incarnation known as Black Cat Bones. Mr Tregaskis is the Syd Barratt of the 21st Century urban world. Elements of deep south blues mingle with abrasive folk.

Alex Monk - Alex Monk has become a regular at scaledown. We welcome his atmospheric loop orientated experiments in sound and songsmith to this new scaledown year!with improvisation.

John Zonn - The return of the excellent Mr Zonn, who has been described as "...half stand-up, half poetry, half music..."

Full details of this exciting event (including a handy map) can be found here.

The Orchestra Pit is openly delighted with your continueing support.
