The Orchestra Pit

Following our customary Summer hiatus we are sure you will all be pleased to hear that Scaledown returns to the end of your month once more with what can only be described as aplomb. it will occur in the usual locale (the King & Queen) at the usual time (7.30pm onwards) on the usual day (the last Friday of the month) which on this occasion happens to be Friday the 24th September. There now follows a list of those performing at the sixty fourth Scaledown (in no particular order):

Hugh Metcalfe - The enigmatic Mr Metcalfe shall make his scaledown debut this month. We are unsure what the multi instrumentalist and expert improviser plans to do as Mr Metcalfe does not have an email address and scaledown co host Mark Braby cannot find his telephonic details. Wait and see....

Same Actor - Chris Cook, AKA Same Actor makes a welcome return to scaledown bringing with him his superb improvisational skills, beautiful sitar playing, and a mixture of electrickery.

Your New Friend - Simon Kobayashi [guitar & vocals] and Alex Carter [guitar] make up Your New Friend, and hope to become best buddies with you via their intricate, cyclical, goosebump-inducing acoustic racket.

Belle Phoenix - Originally from Sydney, Australia but currently residing in North London, Belle is looking to bring her sexy, dark, seductive, gothic leaning rock n’ roll spectacula (sic) to our humble little musical abode... dare we invite her in?

Karolina - A charming young lady whose shy and soft spoken character belies a powerful and talented singer with a lovely voice, accompanying herself on piano. A hidden gem, uncovered at Scaledown, just for you...

As is customary there will also be a sixth act but we're not revealing the details of that one in the interest of generating a little suspense among the Scaledown faithful.

And before we sign off on this missive we would also just like to inform you that the next Orchestra Pit presents... evening will feature Vic Godard and Subway Sect who will be celebrating the release of their new Cd "We Come As Aliens" on Thursday 14th October. This will occur at the St Aloysius Social Club with support being ably provided by Bitter Springs, Dear Thief and Drop. Full details can be found on our web site and reduced price advance tickets are also obtainable from our shop.

The Orchestra Pit basks in the joy of your support.
