The Orchestra Pit

The March hare of madness braves the wind on Friday 22nd March as he weaves through the fields to the King and Queen; up the rickety stairs he goes. He settles his furry behind on a welcoming seat, takes out a hot cross bun to eat, and enjoys a spot of scaledown which features, in no particular order:

The Reactor Core Is Splendid - ...he's bringing Splendid back, yes, Simon Williams aka TRIS has some unfinished business with Scaledown, and so we welcome him back once more, our arms are open, we trust your ears shall be too (and ideally two!).

Damp Matchbox - Damp Matchbox shall be consisting of Mr Tim Holehouse on banjo and electric guitar/effects, Mark Braby Esquire on nylon string guitar/electric guitar/effects/autoharp/voice plus Mr Chris Cook (AKA Same Actor) on Sitar and ambience, and they shall be treating us to a 15 minute drone set.

Ape - musical monkey business courtesy of Mike Walter (tenor sax), Graham MacKeachen (bass), Keske Matsui (guitar/saw) and Paul Shearsmith (trumpet n' tubes).

Flange Zoo - a troop of musical mythical animals who first manifest on 1st April 2012 and perform with original soundscapes and lyrics influenced variously by H. P. Lovecraft’s stories, Ovid’s Metamorphosis and Douglas Adam’s Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Just a bunch of happy-go-lucky, crypto-zoological fiends onstage making full use of multi-effects, stylophone, recorder, Vietnamese jaw harp, hand-designed ‘Tube-Fox’ Didgeridoo, and other amplified interferences. Flange Zoo are Tiger Gnome (Calum F. Kerr), Lotan the Destroyer (Phillip Raymond Goodman) and Kitsune Tsukai (Miyuki Kasahara). They are awesome, be awed.

Portia Winters - Portia Winters heralds the spring with voice, pedals, contact mic and electrics, a welcome cuckoo in the Scaledown nest, laying an experimental egg or two.

Iris Ederer - Austrian born singer Ms Ederer will bring her unique vocal talents to the scaledown stage. Tonight she will be accompanied by David O'Connor on baritone saxophone.

Cheryl McLennan - Cheryl will accompany her wit and poetry with aplomb and you will enjoy it immensely!

Where, Mr Hare? He says: "The King And Queen is situated on the corner of Foley Street and Cleveland Street in London's glorious Fitzrovia (near Goodge Street Tube). Here is a handy link for further details." Thank you Mr Hare we say.

The march hare of madness is pleased he attended promptly at seven of the clock to this free event and he said to tell you that he, along with The Orchestra Pit and Scaledown, pouts in a sassy manner at your everlasting loyalty.
