(Friday 25th April)
Gracing the Scaledown? 'stage' this month shall be the following artistes:
Raf And O - Raf Mantelli and Richard Smith are Raf and O, and you, people of Scaledown, are in for a sublime mix of live electronics, acoustic instruments and fragile, magnetic, strange lullabies married to a pop spirit.
The Aftershave - here, can you smell 'orses?..... nay, it's just the sweet aroma of that bunch of fragrants The Aftershave?.... minimalist south coast country funk courtesy of Simon Charterton, John Pope and Robert Rosenthal.
Louis Vause - beneath his hands come echoes of Dr John, Professor Longhair, Fats Waller and James Booker, but there is something else too...a rolling, swampy lilt that is all his owen. he's played for Hackney Five-O, Graham Coxon, Madness and The King Blues, but tonight ladies and gentle folk of Scaledown, he is playing for you.
Baby - Baby return to Scaledown as a duo with Adam Bushell (vibraphone and percussion) and Will Baby (guitar and flute) playing an improvised set including composition.
Tim Cumming - Tim will bring metaphorical delight and the rich loam of Dartmoor to fertilise the soil of Scaledown and produce poetry that will captivate our ears ... he's also an acclaimed music journalist so the music had better be good tonight, especially the opening song.
Please do feel free to spread the word to yer chums.
