The Orchestra Pit
presents
Scaledown #100
(Friday 27th June)

Ten years and 100 shows in, The Orchestra Pit is proud to present to you this jamboree packed special event. A huge VAT of sublime music, succulent poetry, delicious comedic theatrics, and fine wines and ale have passed through the guts of our wonderful little club. Tonight, we are dishing up a smorgasbord of some of the great delicacies from past scaledown feasts. But COME EARLY or wallow in the stench of a gone off memory! Arrive at 7pm for a 7.30 start!

Those who will be appearing in front of you (in no particular order):

Keith John Adams and The Wildlife - Back in October 2005, Mr Adams first graced the boards at scaledown. His songs were at the time described as 'bouncy and unpredictable.... joyous and witty'. Keith still bounces and remains unpredictable, joyous and witty. Indeed, he is joined by The Wild Life which comprise Matt Armstrong on double bass and Scaledown's Mark Braby on floor drum. hoorah!

Bob Constant & The Goodbye Horses - Beefy of heart and shot full of soul, Bob Constant, Samuel Wicker and Gabriel Bash bring you wonky pop of the highest order in what is promised to be a career spanning and indeed defying set.

The Windsors - The Windsors first played at scaledown in 2011 executing mighty instrumentals with the 'precision of surf rock group The Ventures and the almost classical compositions (of) Captain Beefheart'. We at scaledown are wetting ourselves with excitement at the return of this glorious combo!

Piper's Son - In solo guise effectively, Piper's Son this evening shall consist of Mr Thom Driver, selecting tracks from his mental jukebox, no doubt including tracks from the rather splendid BBC6 endorsed 'Mining EP' and its parent LP 'The Roar From Behind'.

Martin White - The leader of the Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra returns solo for accordion bursts coupled with witticisms galore in his contagiously catchy tales of life we can only dream or dread of living.

Pete Evans - It has always been a pleasure to receive Mr Evans and his inimitable spiky acoustic songs and tonight is no exception. Welcome back to the bard of the West End!

2:13TV's John Bisset & Ivor Kallin a.k.a 'Smoo' - one + one = smoo. take one John Bisset and one Ivor Kallin, add an audience and sit back and see. We have no idea what will happen. They have no idea what will happen. You will have no idea what happened.

Murray Shelmerdine - Poetry! Wit! Intelligence! Murray Shelmerdine returns with his spades full!

Jude Cowan Montague's Big News - Informative and entertaining, it's the Angela Rippon of improv with her current bundle news of news.

Please do feel free to spread the word to yer chums.
