The Orchestra Pit
presents
Scaledown #113
(Friday 30th October 2015)

The Orchestra Pit would like to remind you that, in scaledown days, October was the eighth month in the Roman calendar. So, in scaledown fashion, we will not be offering you 8 but, 7-yes, SEVEN acts which are in no particular scaledown order :

VIC VOX - Erstwhile Scaledown co-curator Dan Whaley is back for his annual appearance, maintaining the tradition of always appearing with a different combo/under a different guise. As ever, he will be fully embracing the Scaledown ethos, on this occasion by performing with a diddy Vox electrulele through a diddy Vox amplifier. .

CHERYL MCLENNAN - Cheryl’s poetry and comedy focuses on the dark and beautiful details of life, love and death.." We say 'aye' to that as we've heard her wonderful poetry here at Scaledown before...and now, so will you!

MOONSWIFT & SAND SNOWMAN - Psychedelic Folk with hints of Post-Punk Prog strangeness. The duo have, in recent years, worked with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Storm Corrosion), Judy Dybe (Fairport Convention, Trader Horn) and Bobbie Watson (Comus).

GENTLEMEN'S HARDWARE - Featuring the wonderful musician, actor, and previous Scaledown guest, Micko Westmoreland, this new unit will air what I believe is a first performance which also features Mr Brian Pistolesi- we are honoured. .

ALEX MONK - It's been a long exile for Mr Monk, but we welcome back brother Alex and his musical chops, where the raw and improvised meets the dreamy, trippy and ghostly. References to early Eno, Coil, Robert Wyatt and Islaja have been made to Monk’s work and his latest release is the concept piece ‘Fragments Of Lost Rivers’.

S&M TRIO - Edmund Davie and Michael Forrest with Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt, fresh from Berlin, Chicago's premiere free improv guitarist.

MARK WALDRON - His wife is a bird. Cool, elegant, reserved and witty tales of inanimate objects and alternative characters. Creatures in the Waldron universe cannot be controlled He also invented the classic 'Daddy or chips' conundrum for McCain.

As ever, it is FREE! Come and hear/see the scaled down performances. DOORS OPEN AT 7.30 PM of the clock. FIFTEEN MINUTES PER ACT! Come along to:
