The Orchestra Pit
presents
Scaledown #119
(Friday 17th June 2016)

June arrives with rosy fingertips, blazing into the room above The King and Queen, touching the artists who touch you in no particular order:

VĂ„LVE - progressive/avant-guard/sound project from Knifeworld's Chloe Herington, featuring an ever morphing line up of conspirators and collaborators and rather a lot of bassoons, saxophones and found sounds

HAYMANOT TESFA - the beloved singer and artist, brings her lyre to enchant us with songs of Ethiopia, ancient and contemporary. Fresh and traditional.

FRANK E. & JKEE - Yee-Haw.... last year we put out the call for some cowpunk, and this coming Friday we get the grits courtesy of two of the low-down psycho-reprobates that are Lonesome Cowboys from Hell will be regaling Scaledown with tales of family strife and cross-country travellin' life..

MARK BRABY - co-scaledown host Mr Braby will perform one short story, one or two wee rhymes, 2 songs and an improvisation which will last until Duane the intern informs him that he has to stop.

ED DOWIE - Ed has been making music since the late 1990s, firstly as one third of Parlophone's Brothers in Sound, then a solo career as Redarthur. He is charming, talented and self-effacing...and back!

MATT BATTLE - 'lo fi aesthetic with punk po sensibilities combined with a fantastical folky twist' .That's the music of Mr Battle, that is. Enjoy his scaledown debut!

As ever, it is FREE! Come and hear/see the scaled down performances. DOORS OPEN AT 7.30 PM of the clock. FIFTEEN MINUTES PER ACT! Come along to:
