Merry makers. It is of paramount importance that you make merry in specific areas this yule period. Austerity UK has deemed this appropriate. The Orchestra Pit organisation has made the recommendation that you direct your merry feet to the King and Queen pub in glorious Fitzrovia to indulge your merry ration at scaledown. there will be a glittering cast who will amaze in no particular order:
BEACH BULLIES - songwriter James A. Smith, ably assisted by Jill Fricker. Back in the '80s, they recorded one full-length LP - 'We Rule The Universe', featuring alternating vocals, a stripped-down aesthetic and minimal arrangements. Now re-released by Manufactured Recordings of Brooklyn, NYC, the Bullies are back.
RAF AND O - Raf and O provide glitchy electronica filled with ambiance and topped with sultry vocals. Welcome them back as they make a triumphant scaledown return. Hear them here again, you hear?
SIMON&THEPOPE - the boys from Warrior Square are back! they have a brand new single bursting with their trademark south coast punk funk drum and bass - 'Bangin' On' / 'Space Bossa Noodle' - as played on BBC6 by Gideon Coe. oh.......... and apparently they look great in stockings
MJ HIBBERT - leaving his Validators behind, and gracing the Scaledown stage solo, here is a man clearly who grasps concepts. in fact he's probably composing a witty wordplay song involving a concept now... maybe one day these concepts will evolve into a whole album. i'm rambling now.... MJ Hibbett the musical don of Stratford City ...embrace him.
JO STEPHENSON - .. likes cabbages and grows fine flowers. She sings and plays ukelele and writes super songs. As heard (more than once!) on Radio 4 including Gardener's Question Time.
SHOWER SINGERS - an eccentric group of unwashed creative types from London’s inner-circle of glorious peeps. They sing a variety of colourful rock, pop, gospel, blues, folk and hymnal favourites from each decade of the 20th and 21st Century, arranged and orchestrated and lead by the divine Lady Bexta
As ever, it is FREE! Come and hear/see the scaled down performances. DOORS OPEN AT 7.30 PM of the clock for an 8pm start. FIFTEEN MINUTES PER ACT! Come along to:
