The Orchestra Pit
presents
Scaledown #131
(Friday 28th July 2017)

Before we at scaledown, like our lovely members of parliament, go into recession for August, we will present to you our manifesto for July which feature some salient points in no particular order:

NICK D-D - Previously employed at Scaledown as an auxiliary Rantipole, this is a rare solo excursion for the multi-instrumentalist currently better known for his work with gypsy-tango mavericks The Bohemianauts and on the experimental circuit with the likes of V4V, Monkey Puzzle Trio, Crackle and nonfictional. The trajectory to this performance pinnacle has encompassed stints in jazz punk mavericks Pinski Zoo, tours with Go West as part of the EMI signed Ordinary Man and since 1988 regular collaborations with Charles Hayward of This Heat, as well as composing music for theatre, film and TV, most notably a Spice Girls influenced Haribo commercial in the late '90s ...something for everyone! He will perform a short acoustic set of original songs and instrumentals.

ISN'TSES - Experimental music using synths, electronics, vocals, circuit bending, live video hardware glitch, webcam and light sculptures. Members: Lisa McKendrick (Listen Lisse) + Tim Drage (Cementimental).

SHABSI MANN - Mann makes her own flavour of avant-garde experimental folk/ punk/ rock, inspired by her Eastern nomadic roots and rare dimensions Mann also curates a gig series in East London called The HAREM Presents: Poetix Of Peacing.

MICHAEL SHAW - Artist, musician and educator based in London. His interdisciplinary practice dances around notions of failure, control, and misdirection, that he explores through live performances, public interventions, staged events, assemblages and experiments often teetering on the point of collapse.

TIM HOLEHOUSE - 'From the Deep south (of England… Portsmouth to be precise) born of a sea faring man and wife came Tim Holehouse'. Since then Mr.Holehouse's trajectory has seen him take in guttural howling to metal music, execute blues inspired songs of death, and more introspective material, all with which he's toured the World. Tonight, hear him as he regales you with such anecdotes of life on the road with a few numbers thrown in for good measure..

ATSUKO KAMURA - "Atsuko Kamura has played many times at scaledown, always providing us with super experimentation, beautiful voice and intriguing electronic sounds. Scaledown welcomes her return to the fold. Enjoy!

As ever, it is FREE! Come and hear/see the scaled down performances. DOORS OPEN AT 7.30 PM of the clock for an 8pm start. FIFTEEN MINUTES PER ACT! Come along to:
