Those who appeared at the sixty third Scaledown were (in no particular order):
Roshi - Roshi Nasehi will be joined by her Pars radio partner Graham 'Dids' Dowdall to beguile us with beautiful melodies from her fantastically recveived 2009 album 'The Sky And The Caspian Sea' as well as hopefully a taster of their forthcoming EP of Iranian songs.
Mr Ron Jetson - The irascible nay irrepressible Ron will be stripping down for the evening, but still joined by a couple of playmates (most likely Miss Jess Hannar on Violin and Mr Steve Pretty on Trumpet) to spare his musical blushes. Ron has specifically requested that no sandals be worn for this performance, beards as usual remain optional.
Retarder - Retarder is the solo project of musician and poet Lloyd James, founder member of post-folk outfit Naevus. A panoply of expressive experimental sounds and odd arrangements buttressed tightly across an incredibly divergent range of compositions.
Raf and O - Raf and O provide glitchy electronica filled with ambience and topped with sultry vocals. Enjoy their first appearance at scaledown.
Florence Joelle's Kiss Of Fire - The future's retro, as Vic 20 once said. Florence Joelle's songs are reminiscent of 40's reefer blues with a 'subconscious colonised by vintage American tunes and things that go bump in the night'. Yet the music is also curiously contemporary. Enjoy!
