Those who performed (as fated) were (in no particular order):
Perhaps Contraption - "In the ilk of other progressive iconoclasts before us, we command an untamed cavalry of mechanical stallions, charging at the strongholds of normalcy with horns screaming, saxophones wailing, guitars flaming, with voices raised in roaring opposition to the tepid dirge of mainstream music." We are very much looking forward to the spectacle of them shoe-horning their bendy pronktacularness into our Scaledown shaped hole.
Magnus Spectrum - A welcome return for the (possibly) Swedish experimental musician and his strange taste in clothing. On this occasion he might well be leaving the consumer electronics at home and treating us to an acoustic set although with this gentleman you never can be sure quite what to expect...
The Aftershave - Minimalist country funk from one former Higson and a Pope. Splashing it all over the musical map.
Gagarin - Having performed at Scaledown in 2010 with Raf & O + Roshi feat. Pars Radio, it's good to welcome back Graham 'Dids' Dowdall in his own right, crafting atmospheric digital soundscapes to send us on a little journey into his unique musical orbit.
Elvers - No strangers to our midst in their former guise as Watson, Marsh and May this newly christened acoustic improvising trio of trumpet , double bass and percussion make a welcome Scaledown return, coinciding with the limited CDr release of their debut album, so don't forget to bring your pocket money.
David 9 - David 9 is one of those rare artists who transcends the solo singer/songwriter genre, delivering passionate performances with a voice that can switch from Lenny Kravitz to David Bowie in seconds. A true chameleon, no song sounds alike and his lyrics range from uplifting and light hearted to dark and heart wrenching. Prepare to be moved...
