Those who performed for you (in no particular order):
Hand Of Stabs - Hand of Stabs is a sound art collective from Rochester in Kent, whose site-specific improvised work is based on a deep topography of sound providing a connection to sacred history and landscape, and on the drinking of beer. They have been described as the bodhisattvas of no-fi: Capt Rex Standish – signal Jocelyn von Bergdorff – interference James Worse – pulse
Raymond $hine - Scaledown welcomes a swift return of the Hackney maverick who, as Octobers information duly notes, plays his own style of ‘avant garde Spanish guitar inspired by the voices in the sky’. Should we expect more of the same? Who knows?
Grassy Noel + Ape - Paul Shearsmith fetches up at Scaledown every year in some capacity, and we welcome him back this time in the company of Grassy Noel + Ape, an intoxicating mix of poetry and improvised music …i’ve heard verse!
Joey Herzfeld - welcome back Joey, possibly with some playmates, performing his macabre show tunes, some of which will feature on forthcoming LP 'Other People's Pain'. Joey reveals the underbelly of life in London with wit, charm and a fair degree of spite
Nigel Burch - and by golly we're ramping up the angXty factor this month with a welcome return for Mr Nigel Burch
Fiona Sally Miller - recently relocated from Brighton to London, and surviving on the mean streets of E5, this tough cookie folky songtsress will be sure to enhance the enchantment of the inaugural Scaledown of 2012 with her beguiling voice and tunesmithery
